find your residency

Eight ways to make Mexico home.

Income. Savings. Retirement. Marriage. Family. Studies. Mexican residency runs on financial thresholds and family ties — each path has its own. Tell us your situation and we'll tell you which one fits.

* Amounts are set in UMA by Mexican law, then converted to dollars by each consulate at its own exchange rate — which is why they differ from one consulate to another. The ranges above cover the consulates we see most often; what applies to your case is confirmed at your consular appointment. Eligibility, financial requirements and permission to work depend on the residency category, and the final decision rests with the Mexican authorities.

why applications get denied

Most denials come down
to one small mistake.

Not because you don't qualify. Not because your income isn't there.
It's a document formatted incorrectly, a translation they won't accept, an apostille from the wrong office, or two dates that don't match.
One detail is all it takes — denied, fees lost, back to the start.

Nothing flags an error before you file

The portal accepts your documents and your payment even when something is already wrong. You find out weeks later — through a request for correction, or a denial.

The apostille is where most US applications fail

Wrong office, expired validity window, or a translator Mexico doesn't recognize. A state-level apostille instead of a federal one is the most common error — and it makes the document worthless.

Low-cost help becomes expensive

An informal helper takes a deposit, answers for a week, then goes quiet the moment there's a real problem. You lose the money and the weeks you can't get back.

Your tourist days keep running

Every week spent researching is a week off your permitted stay. An overstay means fines on departure — and questions every time you re-enter.

your three options

Three ways to do this. Only one is handled for you.

Local expertise. American-level service.

Everything on your side happens in English — the calls, the checklist, the updates on WhatsApp or email. Clear answers, fast communication, complete support.

Everything on the Mexican side happens in Spanish, in person, in the government offices themselves. That half is ours.

Most denials aren't about whether you qualify. They're about a document that says the right thing in the wrong words.

how it works

Simple from day one. Four steps, start to finish.

STEP 01

Eligibility

We review your situation and identify the right visa. Income, entry stamp, timeline — twenty minutes and you have a clear answer. If the honest answer is "wait three months," we say that too.

Day 0 · Free
STEP 02

Documents

We prepare your checklist, your apostilles, and your certified translations. One list, written for a US applicant. You send what you have — we handle the formatting and the documents nobody told you about.

Days 1–21
STEP 03

Application

We review and submit your complete visa application. You never log into a government website. Every document is checked twice against what is being accepted right now — requirements change without notice.

Day 22
STEP 04

Resident card

Once approved, we guide you through the final process in Mexico. We book the resident card appointment, go with you, and keep your file open until the card is in your hand — that card is what gets you a bank account and a lease.

pricing

One price. Zero surprises.

questions

Straight answers

Don't see your question? Message us and ask directly — we answer in English, same day.

Are you attorneys?

No — we're specialists in the documentation, which is what a visa application actually is. We determine which visa fits, assemble and format every document, handle the apostilles and certified translations, and file the application. That is the part that decides whether you're approved.

What we don't do is practice law: legal advice, or representing you in a proceeding. The large majority of visa applications never require either. If yours turns out to be one of the rare ones that does, we'll tell you on the first call and refer you to someone qualified.

How much does it cost?

You receive our full service brochure and pricing at first contact — before you commit to anything. One flat price, quoted once, covering the entire process from the first document to the resident card in your hand.

No hourly billing, no hidden fees, no add-ons at the end. Government filing fees are separate and paid directly by you to the Mexican authorities; those are set by the government and are the same no matter who files for you.

Why not just hire an immigration attorney?

You can, and for a small number of genuinely complex cases you probably should. But for most applicants it means paying $250–400 an hour for work that isn't legal work — collecting documents, getting them apostilled by the correct office, having them translated by someone Mexico recognizes, completing a form and submitting it. Demanding and unforgiving, but not law.

What we hear consistently from people who tried a firm first: two to three times the cost, the person handling the file changes halfway through, updates arrive in Spanish, no visibility on progress, apostilles and translations billed on top, and the resident card appointment isn't their responsibility — even though that card, not the visa, is what gets you a bank account and a lease.

We work the other way: one English-speaking case manager throughout, one price quoted once, every document handled, a tracker you can check at any time, and we walk into the resident card appointment with you.

Which nationalities do you work with?

Most of our clients are American or Canadian, and we also handle British, Australian, Irish and EU passports. The Mexican process itself doesn't change. What changes is where your documents come from and how they're legalized — that's the first thing we map out with you.

Do I need to be in Mexico to start?

No — and it's generally easier if you're not. Requesting your FBI check and the federal apostille is far simpler while you're still in the US. The only step that requires you to be in Mexico is the resident card appointment at the very end.

How long does the whole thing take?

Our average is 44 days from the first call to an approved visa, then two to four additional weeks for the resident card. The two variables are how quickly your apostille comes back from Washington and how heavy the processing backlog is that month.

What happens if my visa is denied?

We tell you exactly why, based on the response received, and what has to change. If the error was ours, we refile at no charge. Government fees are never refunded regardless of who files — that applies to every applicant and every provider.

I've already overstayed. Can you still help?

Usually yes — it's far more common than people admit. Tell us the exact number of days you're over and we'll tell you directly what you're facing and whether it can be resolved from where you are.

Do you handle the FBI background check and apostille?

Yes — and this deserves attention, because it's where most DIY applications fall apart. We show you how to request your FBI Identity History Summary, which channel is fastest (approved channelers beat mailing it in by weeks), and where to send it for the federal apostille from the US Department of State — not your state's Secretary of State, which is the mistake almost everyone makes. We then handle the certified translation in Mexico.
